There’s something energizing about walking into a space filled with students who are ready to launch their careers.

Earlier this winter, Viking Fire Protection had the pleasure of participating in Seneca Polytechnics’s 2026 Winter Career Fair. The atmosphere was dynamic, conversations were flowing, and it was clear that students came prepared- résumés in hand, questions ready, and genuine curiosity about the fire protection industry.

And we were more than happy to meet them.

Career fairs are not just about collecting résumés. For us, they are about connection.

Throughout the day, our team had the opportunity to speak with students from a variety of programs, all eager to learn more about what career in fire protection can look like.

We shared insights about:

What stood out most? The level of engagement. Students weren’t just asking about job openings, they were aksing about mentorship, long-term development, and how they could make an impact in an essential industry.

At Viking Fire Protection, we know that strong industries are built by strong people. Participating in events like Seneca’s Career Fair allows us to connect with emerging talent and showcase the meaningful, hands-on careers available in fire protection.

From designer and project managers to field technicians and inspectors, our industry offers opportunities that are both technically challenging and deeply rewarding. Many student were suprised to learn just how diverse and innovation the field truly is.

We also appreciated seeing how well Seneca prepares its students- from résumé workshops to networking support. It was clear that attendees came ready to make the most of the experience.
