Job Description

As part of a dynamic design team, you will not only contribute to delivering exceptional service to our clients and ensuring the safety and reliability of their fire protection systems, but you will also have the opportunity to showcase your expertise, influence key design decisions, and play a pivotal role in shaping innovative solutions.

Your primary responsibility will be to design automatic fire sprinkler systems and produce drawings that comply with current codes and standards.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing drawings based on architectural, structural, and mechanical plans using AutoCAD, Revit, and HydraCAD.
  • Drafting and reproducing sketches, drawings, and plans.
  • Positioning sprinklers on drawings in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Reviewing and verifying drawings following established procedures.
  • Performing BIM coordination and project modeling.
  • Participating in project meetings with project managers and other trades to ensure proper coordination.
  • Ordering materials based on coordinated drawings using HydraList.
  • Conducting field surveys to support installation drawings.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Fire Protection Engineering Technology or Design or High School diploma with equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of fire protection drafting experience.
  • Proficiency in computer-assisted design with AutoCAD and experience with Revit.
  • Knowledge of HydraCAD (an asset).
  • Knowledge of standards and codes governing design and installation of automatic fire protection systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle
