BC Hydro – Site C Clean Energy Project

Our Vancouver branch was recently awarded the largest contract in Viking Fire history.

The Site C Clean Energy Project will be a third dam and hydroelectric generating station on the Peace River in northeast B.C. Construction of the project started in summer 2015 and will be completed in 2024. After a review of Site C by the British Columbia Utilities Commission in the fall of 2017, the B.C. Government chose to continue construction on the project.

Site C will be a source of clean, reliable and affordable electricity for more than 100 years.

Viking will be installing a variety of fire protection systems ranging from pre-action, deluge, wet, dry, clean agent all being fed from dual fire pumps drawing water from the reservoir. Design has started and installation begins in the fall of this year. 6 to 8 Office/Design employees and 6 to 12 field staff will be involved in this project that is expected to last 2 ½ years.
