Engineering Department Manager

Job Description

You will be mainly responsible to manage the Engineering department and coordinate the design team workload. You will work in conjunction with sales representatives and project coordinators to maintain and develop good relationships with our clients. Among
other things, your responsibilities will be to:

  • Manage a team of designers providing supervision and guidance;
  • Identify requirements regulating the design and installation of fire suppression systems;
  • Plan, schedule and organize all design phases of the project;
  • Perform fire suppression system design and hydraulic calculations and assist with CAD and BIM design drawings;
  • Complete site surveys and plan reviews;
  • Follow-up on budgets, deadlines and schedule for projects.

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical Engineering, or College diploma in fire protection or building mechanics or civil engineering (P. Eng an asset);
  • 5 years of relevant experience;
  • Knowledge of standards and codes governing design and installation of automatic fire protection systems;
  • Proficiency in computer-assisted design with AutoCAD (Revit an asset);
  • Proficiency in hydraulic calculations;
  • Very good knowledge of Windows software;
  • Valid driver’s license and own a vehicle.
